Like most everyone these days, I find myself wearing many new hats during these long days at home…mom, chef, Realtor, and preschool teacher, to name a few. I am doing all sorts of new things I never would have dreamed of a few months ago! I’ll be honest, my kitchen has gotten more use in the last eight weeks than it had in the past 12 months combined!
Recently, Brooks and I made some homemade play dough. It was so much easier than I thought it would be (even for a kitchen novice like me) and it turned out to be a fun way to pass some time. Brooks loved it and, I’ll be honest, I did too!
The Recipe
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
⅓ cup salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Food coloring
Directions
Mix all of the ingredients together in a saucepan. Cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is thick and sticks to the spoon. Remove the dough from heat and let it cool on wax paper or a plate.
Brooks loves taking his toy trucks and cars and playing with them in the play dough. But, here is another great list of things you can do with preschoolers and some play dough!
