A Strong Foundation for Growth

The expansion of The Linder Academy is built upon the success of Linder Educational Coaching, which has spent the past 16 years specializing in evidence-based interventions, test preparation, special education advocacy, and executive functioning support. Since its founding in 2021 by developmental psychologist Kristin Linder, the academy has provided a structured, student-centered approach to learning, prioritizing both academic achievement and social-emotional growth.

A Mission-Driven Approach to Learning

The new upper school expands upon four years of private education focused on students who may struggle in traditional public schools, whether due to learning differences, advanced abilities, or unique academic interests. While The Linder Academy is widely known for supporting neurodiverse and gifted learners, the new high school also aims to provide an enriching environment for students passionate about the arts, music, theatre, and athletics. With small class sizes (averaging 9-12 students) and skill-based placement rather than strict grade-level assignments, students receive a personalized education that maximizes their potential.

A Flexible Approach for Athletes and Artists

Founder Kristin Linder, a former Junior Olympian, understands the demands placed on student-athletes. The school’s flexible schedule allows athletes to train and travel for competitions during the school day while maintaining a rigorous academic curriculum. Similarly, students with a passion for the arts can dedicate extra time to fine arts, music, or theatre, enabling them to hone their craft without sacrificing their education.

Innovative Academic Programs & Facilities

The Linder Academy’s upper school is designed with cutting-edge educational spaces to support a diverse range of student interests and abilities. Facilities will include:

  • A state-of-the-art science lab
  • A fine arts studio
  • A technology and robotics lab
  • A teaching kitchen
  • Performance areas for music and dance
  • A gym featuring rock climbing and fencing facilities
  • A library and media center with extensive research resources

Beyond traditional coursework, students have access to therapeutic services such as speech and occupational therapy during school hours. They can also engage in real-world learning through internships tailored to their chosen field of study.

Preparing for College & Beyond

The Linder Academy aims to better prepare students for college by developing their independence and self-advocacy skills. High school students will learn to use office hours, study groups, and time management strategies to achieve academic success—skills essential for excelling in higher education. The 11th and 12th-grade years include comprehensive college prep support, covering everything from SAT/ACT preparation to application and essay guidance.

A unique feature of the new high school is the ability for students to declare a major, much like in college. Whether a student chooses math, science, theatre, art, or humanities (such as English, writing, or political science), this approach allows them to stand out in the college admissions process. Additionally, students receive individualized advisory support to help them track their progress and set meaningful academic and personal goals.
